Brian Bonnell is currently Global Category Manager for Biotech Planning and Resource at AstraZeneca and MedImmune. Brian’s role is focused on accelerating and enabling the research pipeline by leading strategic sourcing, supplier management and process simplification initiatives. AstraZeneca is a global science led biopharmaceutical company that employs around 57,000 people globally and operates in more than 100 countries in order to deliver our innovative medicines to millions of people worldwide.   Our primary focus is on three key areas: Cardiovascular and Metabolic disease (CVMD); Oncology; and Respiratory, Inflammation and Autoimmunity (RIA).  We are also active in the Infection, Neuroscience and Gastrointestinal (ING) disease areas.   Prior to joining AstraZeneca, Brian led the procurement of multiple categories including IT, facilities and direct materials at both small biotech and large pharmaceutical organizations.  Brian holds an MBA in Finance and Supply Chain Management as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from Penn State.
